Well, I figured I better tell you a bit about the new functions on my new website, even before we digg a little deeper into photography related or travel related blogs.
Today I introduce you to my almost very most favourite new feature: "Photos from collection"
Lets say you come into my website and you want to check out all pictures I currently have online, then you decide to have a closer look at the Toronto skyline picture, you click on it and our new detail view comes up with our new "image-box" (screenshot below). On this page you can enjoy a 600px version of the picture and information about it. But what I really love is the new feature "Photos from collection" (large red circle).
Here you find a film strip with pictures from the gallery page you just came from. On the left of the THUMBNAILS you find a little arrow, this can scroll backwards through the whole gallery you just came from - you do not have to leave the detail view of the Toronto skyline picture to see what other photos we had in the gallery "all_pictures". On the right the arrows will scroll forward. You can click on any of the thumbnails from the collection to come directly to the detail view of the clicked image.
BUT WAIT...there is more (don't worry, I don't want to sell you another 5 knifes for 1$)... the arrows beside the large picture (toronto skyline picture) will scroll you through that collection detail view by detail view! Give it a try - it is really cool. Why am I so excited? Well, I look through most of my images online, not actually in my Lightroom library. With this new feature I can easy scroll through all my different image galleries without leaving the page I'm on right now. it is almost like a slideshow (ok, lets talk about the new slideshow feature in another blog) were you can see one detailed view after another. When you get bored you go underneath the large picture in the "Photos from collection" section and simply scroll forward till you find a picture which you would like to have the detailed view from.
Remember, the detailed view is the 600px picture plus informations, metadata, camera etc. (more about that in another blog).
Please let me know what you think! Did I forget anything? Any additional ideas for that "scrolling through a collection with large pictures"?
